UBUNTU-CVE-2026-13221CVE-2026-13221 0 Perl versions through 5.43.9 have a vulnerability in their regular expression engine where compiling an alternation with more than 65535 fixed string branches into a trie causes a 16-bit overflow. This overflow truncates the trie's match decision table without warning, resulting in incorrect regular expression matches that can produce false positives and false negatives. Such incorrect matches can lead to wrong access or filtering decisions when these patterns are used for security controls.
