A medium severity vulnerability (CVE-2026-23257) in the Linux kernel's liquidio network driver was fixed. The issue was an off-by-one error in the cleanup loop of the setup_nic_devices() function, which caused a memory leak by skipping the failing index during cleanup. This flaw was addressed by correcting the loop to properly iterate from the current index down to zero and adjusting the index on allocation failure. The vulnerability affects certain linux-aws kernel versions prior to specific patched releases. A patch is available and should be applied to prevent potential denial of service due to memory leaks.
