A high-severity vulnerability (CVE-2026-23383) in the Linux kernel's BPF JIT allocator on arm64 architecture was fixed by enforcing 8-byte alignment for the JIT buffer. Previously, the buffer was only 4-byte aligned, which could cause atomic tearing during concurrent updates of a 64-bit target field, potentially leading to corrupted jumps in JIT-compiled code. This issue affects multiple Linux kernel versions prior to 6.8.0 and related builds. A patch is available and included in recent Linux kernel updates. Users should apply the update and reboot to mitigate the risk.
