A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's wlcore WiFi driver caused an infinite loop and CPU soft lockup due to improper error handling when there is insufficient headroom in packet buffers. The issue was fixed by changing the return value from -EAGAIN to -ENOMEM to ensure the packet is dropped and the loop terminates. This flaw affects numerous Linux kernel versions prior to 5.15.0-186.196 and various specific kernel builds. A patch is available and included in recent Linux kernel updates.
