A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's batman-adv subsystem allowed oversized global TT response buffers to cause heap buffer overflows due to improper length calculations. This flaw was fixed by rejecting TT responses with TVLV value lengths that cannot fit in the 16-bit payload length field. The issue affects multiple Linux kernel versions prior to certain patched releases. A high severity CVSS 3.1 score of 9.8 is assigned.
