A timing attack vulnerability exists in mod_auth_digest of Apache HTTP Server version 2.4.66, allowing remote attackers to bypass Digest authentication. This issue is resolved in version 2.4.67. Multiple Ubuntu package versions of Apache 2.4.6 through 2.4.66 are affected. Users should upgrade to the fixed version to mitigate this vulnerability.

Apache HTTP Server 2.4.66 contains a timing attack vulnerability in the mod_auth_digest module that enables remote attackers to bypass Digest authentication. The vulnerability is fixed in version 2.4.67. The affected versions include a wide range of Ubuntu-specific Apache 2.4.x packages from 2.4.6 up to 2.4.66. The CVSS 3.1 vector indicates network attack vector, high attack complexity, no privileges required, no user interaction, unchanged scope, with low confidentiality and integrity impact and no availability impact.
