A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's networking code related to TCPv4 Generic Segmentation Offload (GSO) frag_off checks was resolved. The issue involved unsafe direct dereferencing of IPv4 header offsets in packets injected from PF_PACKET paths, which could lead to uninitialized memory reads. This was fixed by using skb_header_pointer() to safely access the header data. The vulnerability affects multiple linux-azure kernel versions prior to 6.8.0-1061.64~22.04.1 and similar builds.
