An authentication bypass vulnerability exists in the digest authentication mechanism of Apache Tomcat affecting multiple versions from 7.0.0 up to 11.0.21. This issue allows attackers to bypass authentication controls. Users are advised to upgrade to Apache Tomcat versions 11.0.22, 10.1.55, or 9.0.118 where the issue is fixed. The vulnerability affects numerous specific Ubuntu package versions of Tomcat. No known exploits in the wild have been reported.
