A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability (CVE-2026-46282) in the Linux kernel's iio frequency admv1013 driver was fixed. The issue occurred when device_property_read_string() failed, leaving a string pointer uninitialized and subsequently dereferenced, causing a kernel crash. The fix replaces manual string reading and comparison with a safer device_property_match_property_string() function and consolidates related enums. This vulnerability is part of a broader set of Linux kernel security fixes released in July 2026. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 5.5 (medium severity) and affects numerous Linux kernel versions prior to 7.0.0-27.27. A patch is available and should be applied.
