Open Access Management (OpenAM) versions prior to 16.1.1 contain a vulnerability in the OAuthTokenStore and OAuthAdapter components. The OAuthTokenStore reads token identifiers from the shared Core Token Store (CTS) without enforcing an OAuth-only namespace, and OAuthAdapter accepts token data without verifying its integrity or binding to a trusted CTS type. This allows an attacker who can insert controlled JSON into the CTS under a known token identifier to mint OAuth bearer tokens and OpenID Connect ID tokens with arbitrary attributes. The vulnerability does not directly create an OpenAM SSO session or grant console access. The issue is fixed in version 16.1.1.
