UBUNTU-CVE-2026-49145CVE-2026-49145 0 App::Ack versions through 3.10.0 for Perl allow reading arbitrary files via the --files-from option in a project .ackrc file. The tool searches upward from the current directory for a project .ackrc and loads its options. The --files-from option is not blocked by the project-source option blocklist, allowing a malicious .ackrc to specify files outside the project directory to be read and searched. Version 3.10.0 added --follow to the blocklist but did not block --files-from, leaving this vector open. This can lead to unauthorized reading of files when using ack in untrusted repositories.
