A medium severity vulnerability (CVE-2026-53007) in the Linux kernel's ice driver was fixed to prevent a potential NULL pointer dereference in the error handling path of the ice_set_ringparam() function. This issue occurs when a specific flag (ICE_TX_RING_FLAGS_TXTIME) is set and a subsequent setup call fails, leading to a NULL pointer dereference during cleanup. The vulnerability was identified through manual code review and affects multiple Linux kernel versions prior to 7.0.0-28.28 and related builds. A patch is available and included in updated Linux kernel packages distributed by Ubuntu. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 06/24/2026, 17:17:00 UTC Added: 07/16/2026, 10:37:57 UTC |
