Linux hwe edge: In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix same-register dst/src OOB read and pointer leak in sock_ops When a BPF…CVE-2026-53078 0 A critical vulnerability in the Linux kernel's BPF sock_ops subsystem was fixed to address an out-of-bounds read and kernel pointer leak. The issue occurs when a BPF sock_ops program accesses context fields with the same source and destination register, causing macros to fail zeroing the destination register in certain code paths. This leads to stale kernel pointers being retained, enabling stack out-of-bounds access and kernel pointer leaks. The fix involves code changes to properly zero the destination register and adjust instruction jumps. Affected versions include multiple Ubuntu kernel releases prior to 7.0.0-28.28~24.04.1 and related builds.
