A vulnerability in the Linux kernel related to the BPF subsystem was resolved by renaming the kernel configuration option CONFIG_CFI_CLANG to CONFIG_CFI, making it compiler-agnostic. The incorrect configuration name caused critical code to be compiled out, allowing certain control flow integrity (CFI) checks to fail. This issue affects multiple Linux kernel versions prior to 7.0.0-28.28 and related builds.
