In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: only release the dirty pages io tree after successful writes [WARNING]…CVE-2026-53284 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Btrfs filesystem code was resolved that involved improper release of dirty pages in the IO tree after failed writes. This could lead to warnings and errors during unmount operations, including forced readonly filesystem states and aborted transactions. The issue arises because the dirty pages IO tree is cleared even when write errors occur, preventing proper cleanup of dirty extent buffers and causing warnings and potential filesystem instability.
