UBUNTU-CVE-2026-56289CVE-2026-56289 0 GNU patch versions used in various Ubuntu releases are vulnerable to a denial of service (DoS) caused by improper validation of hunk line offsets in unified-diff input. A malicious patch file can specify an extremely large line number, causing the patch utility to enter an effectively infinite loop, resulting in excessive CPU consumption and unresponsiveness. This issue has been fixed in a specific commit. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 07/09/2026, 11:16:00 UTC Added: 07/16/2026, 10:37:35 UTC |
