NLnet Labs Unbound up to and including version 1.25.1 contains a heap buffer overflow vulnerability in the DNSSEC validator when processing certain RRSIG-covered PX, RP, MINFO, or SOA resource records. The issue arises because the validator does not verify the presence of a second embedded domain name before passing its address to a function that converts domain names to lowercase, potentially causing out-of-bounds memory reads and heap corruption. This vulnerability has a medium severity rating and a CVSS score of 4.8. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 07/22/2026, 14:17:00 UTC Added: 10/17/2026, 22:25:45 UTC |
