A use-after-free vulnerability in the ALSA PCM OSS subsystem of the Linux kernel was fixed. The flaw occurs when snd_pcm_oss_proc_write() links a newly allocated setup entry into the OSS setup list before duplicating the task name. If task-name allocation fails, the linked entry is freed but the list still points to freed memory, leading to potential use-after-free during later OSS device opens. The fix involves allocating and initializing the setup entry before adding it to the list and ensuring consistent locking during list traversal.
