Rsync versions 3.1.0 through 3.4.4 contain an access control bypass vulnerability that allows remote attackers to circumvent hostname-based deny rules. This occurs because the rsync daemon skips deny rules when DNS lookups for hostnames fail, enabling unauthorized access to restricted module file trees.
