Technical Analysis

This vulnerability (CVE-2026-94586) involves command injection in the WebTools administrative interface of Brocade Fabric OS. Specifically, the flaw occurs when handling configuration download or file transfer operations. An authenticated user authorized to perform configuration downloads via remote server profiles can supply malicious parameter strings that lead to arbitrary shell command execution with root privileges on the affected switch. The affected versions include all Brocade Fabric OS versions prior to 9.2.2d and versions 10.0.0 through 10.0.0a1.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows an authenticated user with configuration download permissions to execute arbitrary commands as root on the switch. This could lead to full system compromise, unauthorized control, and potential disruption of network operations managed by the device.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict access to the WebTools administrative interface to trusted users only and limit permissions to configuration download operations. Monitor for any updates from the vendor regarding patches or workarounds.
