Description

A vulnerability in BIND 9 allows a named resolver to accept an inapplicable NSEC record as proof that no wildcard DNS record exists. This flaw could enable an attacker at the same or an upstream zone level to mask the presence of a victim's wildcard record. The issue affects multiple BIND 9 versions ranging from 9.11.0 through 9.21.25 and certain security patch versions. A fix is available in specified updated versions.
