Upgrade CakePHP to versions 4.5.12, 4.6.5, 5.1.8, 5.2.14, or 5.3.7 depending on the release line in use. These versions include fixes that remove CRLF bytes from custom mail headers, preventing injection. No other mitigation is required if upgraded.
Description
CakePHP versions prior to 4.5.12, 4.6.5, 5.1.8, 5.2.14, and 5.3.7 allow injection of CRLF bytes in custom mail headers when user-controlled data is used. This occurs because the framework does not remove CRLF bytes from headers set via Message::setHeaders() or Message::addHeaders(). The vulnerability enables header injection attacks. Fixed versions are available on all affected release lines.
