AI-suggested

A fixed version 4.80 or later should be applied to remediate this vulnerability. Until patched, avoid processing untrusted incremental JSON input streams with vulnerable versions.

Description

Cpanel::JSON::XS versions before 4.80 for Perl contain a vulnerability that allows memory exhaustion via incremental input buffering in the incr_parse function. The parser incorrectly manages buffer size checks, enabling an attacker streaming data to cause unbounded memory growth and potentially exhaust process memory.
