AI-suggested
Siemens has released an official patch for SIMATIC IoT2050 Advanced devices in version 4.3.4.1 and later that addresses this vulnerability. Users should apply this update promptly. Additionally, administrators should verify that Node-RED instances are not exposed to untrusted networks without authentication (adminAuth). Review deployed Node-RED flows for unexpected exec nodes or HTTP endpoints that may indicate compromise. Restrict external access to Node-RED interfaces to prevent unauthorized exploitation.
Description
A critical vulnerability in Node-RED, tracked as CVE-2026-58115, allows unauthenticated remote attackers to execute arbitrary code with maximum privileges via the HTTP interface. Exploits have been observed in the wild, deploying Linux bots and persistent webshells from a single IP address. Siemens patched this flaw in SIMATIC IoT2050 Advanced devices starting with version 4.3.4.1. Attackers scan for Node-RED instances without authentication and exploit them automatically with a single HTTP request.
