Users should avoid setting the SMS media to arbitrary files other than legitimate GSM modem device files. Monitor vendor advisories for updates or patches addressing this issue. Since the vulnerability requires privileged configuration changes, restricting access to configuration settings can reduce risk.
Description
CVE-2024-22123 is a low-severity code injection vulnerability in Zabbix where setting the SMS media to a file other than a GSM modem device, such as a log file, causes Zabbix server to send AT commands to that file. This results in corruption of the log file and leakage of a small portion of its content to the user interface.
