Description
CVE-2024-47726 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's f2fs file system where the kernel did not properly wait for direct I/O (dio) write completions before removing blocks. This could lead to data corruption due to previous direct write I/O overwriting data in blocks reused by other inodes. The issue affects multiple Linux kernel versions and has been fixed in several patched releases. The vulnerability has a high severity rating with a CVSS score of 7.8. No known exploits in the wild have been reported. Official patches are available and should be applied to mitigate the risk.
