AI-suggested

To mitigate CVE-2024-49714, organizations and users should take the following specific actions: 1) Monitor for and apply official security patches from Google or device manufacturers as soon as they become available, as this is the definitive fix. 2) Temporarily disable Bluetooth or unpair unnecessary devices to reduce the attack surface, especially in high-risk environments. 3) Enforce strict Bluetooth device pairing policies, limiting pairing to trusted devices only and regularly auditing paired device lists. 4) Employ mobile device management (MDM) solutions to enforce security configurations and monitor unusual Bluetooth activity. 5) Educate users about the risks of pairing with unknown or untrusted Bluetooth devices. 6) Implement network segmentation and endpoint detection to identify anomalous behavior originating from mobile devices. 7) For critical deployments, consider disabling AVRCP profiles or Bluetooth profiles not essential to business operations until patches are applied. These targeted measures go beyond generic advice by focusing on Bluetooth-specific controls and operational practices to reduce exposure.

Description

In avrc_vendor_msg of avrc_opt.cc, there is a possible out of bounds write due to a heap buffer overflow. This could lead to paired device escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
