What to do

AI-suggested

A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to add bounds checking for stream encoder creation in the dcn401 driver. Users should update to the latest Linux kernel version containing this fix. No additional mitigation steps are indicated.

Description

CVE-2024-49970 is a buffer overflow vulnerability in the Linux kernel's AMD display driver (dcn401). It occurs due to an out-of-bounds array access when creating a stream encoder, where an invalid index (5) is used to access an array with only four elements. This flaw has been fixed by implementing proper bounds checking.
