Description
CVE-2024-56552 is a race condition vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm/xe/guc_submit driver related to suspend_pending handling. The flaw can cause assertion failures and errors due to improper queue deregistration and double unregister attempts. This issue has been fixed by adjusting the ordering of suspend and unregister operations to prevent race conditions. The vulnerability affects multiple Linux kernel versions prior to fixed releases in the 6.8.x and 6.11.x series and some specific older versions. A patch is available and included in recent kernel updates.
