AI-suggested

Upgrade SurrealDB to version 2.1.4 or later, where this issue is fixed. Since the vulnerability is due to a silent failure in applying permission changes, applying the official fix ensures that permission overwrites function correctly. No other mitigation is indicated.

Description

SurrealDB versions before 2.1.4 have a vulnerability where the DEFINE TABLE ... OVERWRITE clause fails to update table definitions for tables defined with TYPE RELATION. This failure prevents updated permissions from being applied, potentially allowing authorized clients to access data they should no longer have access to.
