AI-suggested
A patch is available and has been released in multiple Linux kernel versions including 5.15.0-1088.95~20.04.1 and later. Users should update to these fixed kernel versions to remediate the vulnerability. The vendor advisory confirms the availability of fixes. No additional mitigation actions are required beyond applying the official kernel updates.
Description
A memory leak vulnerability in the Linux kernel's tipc_link_xmit function was fixed. The flaw occurs when the backlog transmit queue for system-importance messages is overloaded, causing tipc_link_xmit() to return -ENOBUFS without purging the skb list, leading to memory leaks and allocation failures. This issue has been addressed by purging the skb list before returning from tipc_link_xmit().
