What to do

A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to synchronize write and ioctl operations using inode locking, preventing the NULL pointer dereference. Users should update to a Linux kernel version that includes this fix once it is released. Until then, no other specific mitigations are indicated.
Description
CVE-2025-37806 is a Linux kernel vulnerability in the NTFS3 filesystem driver where write operations were not kept atomic. This flaw allowed a race condition between a write operation and an ioctl call clearing the compress flag, leading to a NULL pointer dereference and kernel crash. The issue was fixed by synchronizing ioctl and write operations using an inode lock.
