Users should monitor Red Hat advisories for future updates or fixes. Physical security controls to prevent unauthorized access to systems are critical to reduce risk.

Description

CVE-2025-4382 is a vulnerability in grub2 affecting systems using LUKS-encrypted disks with TPM-based auto-decryption. When GRUB automatically decrypts disks using TPM-stored keys, the decryption key is loaded into system memory. If an attacker with physical access corrupts the filesystem superblock, GRUB enters rescue mode while the disk remains decrypted and the key remains in memory. This allows unauthorized access to unencrypted data without further authentication, compromising confidentiality and data integrity.
