AI-suggested

This issue is fixed in AIDE version 0.19.2. Users should upgrade to this version or later. As a workaround, configure AIDE to write report outputs to regular files, redirect standard output (stdout) to a file, or redirect log output written to standard error (stderr) to a regular file to prevent terminal escape sequence interpretation.

Description

CVE-2025-54389 is an improper output neutralization vulnerability in AIDE versions prior to 0.19.2. It allows a local attacker to craft malicious filenames containing terminal escape sequences that can hide file additions or removals in reports or tamper with log outputs. Extended attribute key names and symbolic link targets are also affected by this neutralization issue. This vulnerability has been fixed in version 0.19.2. Workarounds include configuring AIDE to write reports and logs to regular files instead of terminals.
