Technical Analysis

This vulnerability in Dolibarr ERP CRM affects an unspecified function in the htdocs/user/messaging.php file where manipulation of the ID parameter leads to an authorization bypass. This allows an attacker with network access and low privileges to remotely bypass authorization checks without user interaction. The issue is resolved in version 23.0.3 by applying the patch identified by commit 119b3606c7a701747a57a1f18b1a9e7666f678e2.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation enables an attacker to bypass authorization mechanisms remotely, potentially accessing or manipulating data or functions they should not have permission for. The CVSS 5.3 (medium severity) score reflects the moderate impact due to the need for low privileges and the lack of user interaction or elevated privileges required.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade Dolibarr ERP CRM to version 23.0.3, which contains the official fix for this authorization bypass vulnerability. Applying this update fully mitigates the issue. No additional mitigations are specified or required beyond upgrading.
