Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-105631 describes an authorization bypass vulnerability in the Plane project management tool before version 1.4.0. The WorkspaceFileAssetEndpoint.get and WorkspaceAssetDownloadEndpoint.get methods fail to verify project membership when resolving FileAsset records, enabling workspace members to download assets from private projects if they know the asset UUID. Additionally, the EntityAssetEndpoint.get endpoint allows unauthenticated users who know a valid anchor and asset UUID to retrieve issue-description or comment-description assets from unpublished or private projects within that workspace. This vulnerability is fixed in Plane version 1.4.0.

Potential Impact

An attacker with knowledge of valid asset UUIDs can access confidential assets from private or unpublished projects without proper authorization. This leads to high confidentiality impact as sensitive project data can be exposed. Integrity impact is low since the vulnerability allows read-only access. Availability is not affected.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade Plane to version 1.4.0 or later, where this authorization bypass vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigations are indicated by the vendor advisory.
