Technical Analysis

Ghost, a Node.js content management system, has a vulnerability (CVE-2026-105675) classified under CWE-203 (Observable Discrepancy) and CWE-943. From versions 4.39.0 through 6.63.x, staff users who can view staff invites can access secret tokens of pending invites, including those for roles with higher privileges than their own. This exposure enables privilege escalation by accepting these invites. The vulnerability is resolved in version 6.64.0.

Potential Impact

An attacker with staff user permissions to view staff invites can escalate their privileges by obtaining secret tokens for pending invites with higher roles and accepting them. This leads to a complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability within the affected Ghost instance.

Mitigation Recommendations
