Users should monitor the vendor's advisory for updates. Until a fix is available, restrict subscriber-level user capabilities if possible and consider disabling or limiting the use of the user_url field to reduce risk. Employ web application firewalls or XSS filtering as interim protective measures.

Description

The Discussion Board – WordPress Forum Plugin up to version 2.6.0 is vulnerable to a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) flaw via the user profile Website (user_url) field. This vulnerability arises from insufficient output escaping in the plugin's handling of the user_url value, allowing authenticated users with subscriber-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts. These scripts execute when any user views a Discussion Board topic containing the attacker's reply.
