Technical Analysis

The vulnerability in Apache Kylin arises because the default startup profile lacks certain security settings, potentially exposing deployments that use this default profile. Deployments configured with a security setting profile are not impacted. The affected versions are from 4.0.0 up to and including 5.0.4. The issue is resolved in version 5.0.5.

Potential Impact

Deployments of Apache Kylin using the default startup profile without security settings are vulnerable. Deployments with security setting profiles enabled are not affected. No known exploits in the wild have been reported.

Mitigation Recommendations

Users should upgrade Apache Kylin to version 5.0.5 or later, which includes the fix for this vulnerability. If a security setting profile is already enabled in the deployment, no additional action is required.
