Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-109185 describes a missing authorization vulnerability in jshERP through version 3.6. The issue exists in the UserController's updateUser handler, where authenticated users can manipulate role assignments without proper authorization checks. Low-privilege attackers can exploit this to escalate their privileges by assigning themselves the tenant administrator role or rebind roles of other tenant users.

Potential Impact

An attacker with valid authentication but low privileges can escalate their access rights to tenant administrator level or alter roles of other users within the same tenant. This can lead to unauthorized administrative control and potential compromise of tenant data or operations.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict access to the updateUser functionality to trusted users only and monitor for suspicious role changes.
