Published: 10/13/2026 (10/13/2026, 18:50:09 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: Kareadita
Product: Kavita

Description

Kavita versions 0.9.0 through 0.9.1.4 have a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability. Authenticated users can bypass the SSRF blocklist by leveraging DNS rebinding or HTTPS redirects. This allows attackers to submit URLs that, after validation, rebind or redirect to internal network addresses, enabling blind probing of internal ports and services. The vulnerability has a low CVSS score of 2.3 and does not have known exploits in the wild.

Technical Analysis

Kavita 0.9.0 through 0.9.1.4 contains an SSRF vulnerability where authenticated users can circumvent SSRF protections by using DNS rebinding or HTTPS redirects. This bypass allows the POST /api/Cbl/upload-cbl-file endpoint to accept URLs that ultimately resolve to internal network addresses, facilitating blind internal port and service scanning. The vulnerability is limited by requiring authentication and has a low severity rating.

Potential Impact

Authenticated attackers can bypass SSRF protections to perform blind internal port and service probing within the internal network. This could potentially reveal information about internal services but does not directly indicate remote code execution or data exfiltration. The impact is limited by the requirement for authentication and the low CVSS score.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict authenticated user permissions and monitor for suspicious use of the POST /api/Cbl/upload-cbl-file endpoint. Avoid relying solely on SSRF blocklists that can be bypassed by DNS rebinding or HTTPS redirects.
