Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-111041 is a missing authorization vulnerability (CWE-862) in the AI Engine WordPress plugin versions prior to 3.7.9. The plugin fails to verify that a user performing certain AI media management actions is authorized to edit the targeted post object. As a result, users with the Editor role or above can modify or change the type of arbitrary posts, including those they are not permitted to edit under normal permissions.

Potential Impact

Users with the Editor role or higher can exploit this vulnerability to modify or change the type of posts they do not own or have explicit permission to edit. This could lead to unauthorized content changes on the affected WordPress site, potentially impacting content integrity and site management.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade the AI Engine WordPress plugin to version 3.7.9 or later, where this authorization issue has been fixed. Since no official patch link is provided, users should verify the availability of the fixed version from the plugin vendor or WordPress plugin repository. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance.
