AI-suggested

Upgrade the GeoDirectory plugin to version 2.8.196 or later, where this vulnerability has been fixed. Applying this official fix eliminates the risk of stored cross-site scripting via the post badge click-through link value. No other mitigation is necessary once the plugin is updated.

Description

A stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in the GeoDirectory WordPress plugin before version 2.8.196. It arises from improper sanitization and escaping of a post badge click-through link value, which is output in an anchor element on listings. Users with Contributor role or higher can exploit this to inject malicious scripts that execute when higher-privileged users, such as administrators, view the affected listing.
