No explicit patch or remediation is provided in the available data. Until a fix is available, avoid using affected versions on untrusted networks or ensure networkServeTLS is properly enforced if possible.
Description
SiYuan versions 3.6.0 up to but not including 3.8.7 have a vulnerability where the networkServeTLS setting is accepted but not enforced. This causes the kernel port to serve the full API over plain HTTP alongside HTTPS, allowing network-adjacent attackers to sniff cleartext login credentials and session cookies. The session cookie lacks the Secure attribute and responses omit HSTS, increasing the risk of session hijacking.
Impact
An attacker with network adjacency can intercept sensitive authentication information transmitted in cleartext, including login credentials and session cookies. This enables hijacking of kernel API sessions, potentially allowing unauthorized access to the affected SiYuan instance's API functions.
Summary
SiYuan versions >=3.6.0 and <3.8.7 accept and persist the networkServeTLS configuration but fail to enforce it, resulting in the kernel port serving full API access over unencrypted HTTP in addition to HTTPS. This allows attackers on the same network to intercept the cleartext login flow and session cookie. The session cookie does not have the Secure attribute, and HTTP responses do not include HSTS headers, which facilitates session hijacking by capturing authentication tokens.
