AI-suggested

Upgrade systeminformation to version 5.33.14 or later, where this path traversal vulnerability is fixed. No additional mitigation is required as the vulnerability requires local access and specific filesystem setup.

Description

A path traversal vulnerability (CWE-22) exists in the systeminformation Node.js library prior to version 5.33.14. The Linux networkStats(iface) function improperly validates the iface parameter when constructing filesystem paths, allowing an attacker with local access to manipulate the iface value to read arbitrary files accessible to the Node.js process. This requires local filesystem setup and cannot be exploited remotely. The issue is fixed in version 5.33.14.
