AI-suggested

Users should avoid using the front-end form helper with a wysiwyg field inside a repeatable group on publicly accessible pages until a fix is released. Monitor the vendor's advisories for updates and apply patches once available. Since this is a stored XSS vulnerability, sanitizing and escaping input and output in custom integrations may help mitigate risk temporarily.

Description

CMB2, a WordPress plugin by jtsternberg, is affected by a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in all versions up to 2.13.4. The flaw arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping of the 'cmb43ex1_grp[0][txt]' parameter, which is a wysiwyg field inside a repeatable group. This vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious scripts that execute when users access the affected pages. Exploitation requires the plugin's front-end form helper to be used with a wysiwyg field inside a repeatable group on a publicly accessible page.
