AI-suggested

A fix is available in OpenEMR version 8.3.0. Users should upgrade to version 8.3.0 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No additional mitigation steps are specified or required beyond applying the official patch.

Description

OpenEMR versions prior to 8.3.0 contain a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the CCDA/CCD preview stylesheets. This flaw allows authenticated users to upload crafted CCDA/CCD documents with malicious event-handler attributes that execute scripts in a clinician's session upon previewing. The vulnerability arises from improper neutralization of input in cda.xsl and ccd.xsl files, where event-handler and table-cell attributes are copied unsanitized or evade filtering.
