AI-suggested
Upgrade SunEditor to version 3.4.0 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is required as the fix addresses the improper neutralization of input in the FileUpload plugin.
Description
SunEditor versions before 3.4.0 have a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the FileUpload plugin's create() method. This flaw occurs because server-returned file names are assigned to innerHTML without proper escaping, allowing attackers to upload files with malicious HTML content. When such content or gallery items are loaded, the embedded JavaScript executes in victims' browsers, potentially leading to session theft. The vulnerability is fixed in version 3.4.0.
