AI-suggested
Upgrade SunEditor to version 3.4.0 or later, where this stored cross-site scripting vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is required as the fix addresses the root cause by properly escaping inserted content.
Description
SunEditor versions before 3.4.0 have a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the ModalAnchorEditor's #createBookmarkList function. This flaw arises because entity-decoded header text (h1-h6) is inserted into the bookmark list using innerHTML without proper escaping. An attacker can store malicious HTML-encoded payloads in editor headers that execute JavaScript when a user opens the link modal and types # in the URL input. The vulnerability is fixed in version 3.4.0.
