Until an official fix is available, restrict access to the vulnerable API endpoint through network controls such as firewalls or API gateways to prevent unauthenticated access. Monitor for unusual deletion activity and consider implementing compensating controls like authentication proxies or rate limiting to reduce risk.
Description
CVE-2026-31244 describes a vulnerability in the mem0 1.0.0 server where its memory deletion API endpoint (DELETE /memories/{memory_id}) lacks authentication and authorization controls. This allows unauthenticated remote attackers to delete arbitrary memory records without verifying identity or permissions. Exploitation can result in unauthorized data loss and potential denial of service. The vulnerability has a medium severity with a CVSS score of 6.5. No patch or official remediation guidance is currently available, and no known exploits have been reported in the wild.
